Rural Hospital Program reaches its 225th hospital

— Wardmore Health Capital’s Rural Hospital Program now finances critical-care equipment at 225 hospitals in 29 states and two Canadian provinces. The 225th, a 25-bed critical-access hospital in western Kansas, is financing four monitored beds and a central monitoring station under the program’s Utilization Pricing terms.

The program began in 2018 with eleven hospitals. It offers terms written for hospitals with small intensive-care or step-down units: minimum commitments sized to a typical winter census, payments that follow the hospital’s cost-report cycle, and no security deposit on equipment enrolled in Continuity Assurance.

“The hospitals in this program are often the only place within an hour where a critically ill patient can be stabilized,” said Terrence Boyd, Managing Director of the Rural Hospital Program. “Our job is to make sure the equipment is there and that the payments fit the way they are actually paid.”
