What a subscribed bed includes
- A critical-care ventilator with humidifier, or a share of the unit’s ventilator fleet if not every bed is ventilated.
- A bedside monitor and its share of the central station.
- Infusion channels, as agreed per bed.
- Preventive maintenance and repairs by the manufacturer’s service organization.
- Loaner equipment while anything is out for repair, delivered within an agreed time.
- Software updates, including security patches, for the term.
Adding and removing beds
The agreement sets a minimum and a maximum number of subscribed beds. Between them you can add or remove beds in blocks of two on 60 days’ notice, for example for a winter surge. Equipment for added beds is delivered from the manufacturer or from our regional pool.
Why hospitals choose it
One agreement, one renewal date and one line in the budget, in place of separate leases, service contracts and software subscriptions. Clinical engineering stops tracking three renewal calendars; respiratory therapy gets a fleet that all takes the same circuits.
